When  we returned home it was a month before my big day.  My oldest daughter Jenn and my sister Ruth planned a surprise open house for me at the end of November. It was an incredible afternoon shared with friends and family, some of whom I hadn’t seen for many years!  They created four picture boards depicting my life over the past 60 years and it was a wonderful depiction of God’s hand on my life during our family years, our ministry years on Keats Island and our connection with Global Shore and the impact all of these events have had on me. The biggest surprise was to have my other two daughters join in this special celebration…Katrina from Ontario and Jess from Alberta!!

The guests were given the option to support the 100 for a hundred campaign in honour of my birthday and it was a joy to be able to raise almost $500.00 for a ministry that is close to my heart.  It was an afternoon and weekend that will never be forgotten and I am humbled and grateful for the love expressed to me and am so thankful for the donations given to Global Shore for the Christian education of those less fortunate in Guatemala.
