In December of 2021, Jervin and Jasmin moved their family 9 hours away to Poptún to start a church and eventually open a new GSO-run school.
In 2023, they felt the Lord prompting them to start the school sooner than expected; they took a leap of faith and taught six students in their home.
In 2024, the school has moved out of Jervin and Jasmin's home into a two-classroom rented schoolhouse, where they taught 10 students from Kindergarten to Grade 3.
Today, the Poptún school is thriving, with over 25 students and seven staff, three of which have made the sacrifice of moving across the country to teach at the new school.
