Global Shore Opportunities is seeking 1-2 new staff members with a focus on Short-Term Opportunities (receiving and leading visiting groups). The ideal candidate is passionate about discipleship, enjoys hosting and loves saying “yes” to a new adventure.
Staff members join our community in Guatemala for a 2-year term, hosting short-term groups that visit our ministry. Working with our STO Director, staff members serve alongside these groups, sharing the vision of the ministry and following God’s leading in discipling these groups.
Our vision for visiting short-term teams is that would encounter the Lord, coming away from trips with a refreshed faith, a deeper understanding of the work of God in Guatemala and a desire to take new steps towards faithfully following God. Staff members will be at the heart of this vision, connecting with and leading these teams. Throughout team visits, staff members are “on call” and the first point of contact for discipleship, organization and team needs.
When there are no teams visiting, staff members will work within the staff community as appropriate to their strengths and giftings. The areas of potential service include but are not limited to communications, sponsorship communication and TEFL department assistance.
These positions are fully fundraising, with stipend and fundraising goals to be determined in conversation with applicants based on their situation. Positions can begin anytime in January 2020, ideally on January 20th. For more information or to apply, please send resume and cover letter to Cathy Penelton (firstname.lastname@example.org). For more information about our short-term teams and their experiences, take a look at our teams page.
